The Challenge
The challenge was to create a specialty café identity that felt warm and inviting without looking overly traditional or generic. Cocoa Love needed a visual personality that could work across the café experience, seasonal menus, takeaway packaging, and everyday customer touchpoints while remaining instantly recognisable.
The Solution
The identity was built around warmth, sweetness, and playful nostalgia. A whimsical illustrated Christmas tree became the central character, combining coffeehouse comfort with a festive personality. The bold colour palette and expressive typography give the café a distinctive presence while keeping the overall system approachable and fun.
The Visual Identity
The visual identity pairs deep cocoa brown with vibrant pink, creating a rich yet playful colour palette. Chunky rounded typography gives the wordmark a friendly personality, while the illustrated tree, hearts, stars, and small hand-drawn details create a charming visual language that can shift between everyday café moments and seasonal campaigns.
Illustrations
Illustration plays a central role in the Cocoa Love identity. The decorated Christmas tree acts as the brand mascot and is supported by playful icons, hearts, stars, cookies, gifts, and winter motifs. These illustrations can be used independently or combined into patterns, menus, packaging, signage, and promotional materials.
The Packaging
The packaging extends the identity into the everyday café experience through takeaway cups, carriers, trays, napkins, and coffee packaging.
